The History of Richmond Hill Area Tennis Association

In June 2006, a group of avid tennis players met on the bleachers of a ball field at Richmond Hill Recreation Park and formed what is now the Richmond Hill Area Tennis Association.  During those early days, this intrepid group discussed and planned how to grow tennis within the local community.  From these humble beginnings, RHATA has been successful in organizing lessons for juniors and adults, organizing several junior tennis teams that have competed and won local area championships, brought an adult tennis league to the community, and recruited a local tennis professional to take our instructional programs to the next level.  As we head into the future, RHATA will continue to work with local officials and the tennis community to ensure that we have the facilities and programs to meet the needs of the Richmond Hill area.
